Van Build: More to Do after First Shakedown…

print

We were able to take the van on it’s first shakedown trip. We wanted to get an idea how much power, fuel, and water we would use in a single night, so we would know if what we installed would be adequate. I’m happy to say it went really well! I think the solar and batteries will provide plenty of power. We went through about four gallons of water and most of that was in doing dishes. I am now looking for ways to conserve water for that task. The butane stoves were easy and efficient to use. A video of that trip can be view below or on my YouTube channel.

After we returned home we got right to work making a few changes and continuing on work still needing to be done. We’ve upgraded the radio and back up camera, added an under the cabinet exhaust fan, built in some shelves in the garage area and more.

I have documented the entire van conversion on my Channel. Please consider subscribing so you don’t miss an episode.
